this exhibition ties in with our exhibition of the Hanseatic Society of Watercolour Painting in 2011. This time, the artists involved do however not restrict themselves to the media watercolour but instead work with different tecniques. What connects them is a sensual, fresh approach to new and old forms of painting as well as the hanseatic origin and mentality.
Michael Behn is showing a series of laser copies under the heading Statements from the Sixties
Manfred Eichhorn is presenting the series Yokto-Areas, oil and enamel on canvas.
Ralf Jurszo is showing sea pieces, citing maritime painting of the 19th cent. and northern landscapes. Those can only be found off-road and out of the way (imaginations of a rover, off-road landscapes), painted mainly in gouache, interference and fluorescent colour on black canvas.
Katharina Kohl is presenting pieces of a series Reference Horizon, watercolour on paper/MDF.
